Rolling with the Punches.

As many people know, last Friday, there was a leak of information concerning Modern Warfare 3's story, such as the locations, characters, and who dies and how. Now, many companies would sit around telling people that they shouldn't have done that and how this is such a terrible thing to do to a company, and how it's wrong to steal other people's Intellectual Property. However, Activision's CEO, Eric Hirshberg has decided to make the best of the situation and not waste time looking backwards.

The day of the leak, the big-wigs of Activision gathered together in a big conference table and asked them selves what they should do. After throwing out every idea from, just ignore it, to lean further into it, they took a pause and thought of how this would look to the fans. Now, no one can say that the fans were doing anything wrong, the leakers were the bad guys here, the fans were just getting excited over a game they were anticipated, which gave the game a lot of free publicity.
So, Activision has decided to take the information that was leaked, and turn it all into a kind of teaser trailer for the fans. Activision also stated that "if there's gonna be a dialogue about our game, we want it to be between us and our fans and not between the leakers and our fans." This clearly shows that Activision has decided to become the bigger man in this situation and not follow in the footsteps of game makers who were put in this awkward position, and while there's been a lot of info on the game already released, there's still plenty of things for Activision to talk about at E3, and with all this free publicity, we know they're panel will be one of the most watched.
